HJ–WB Holden GTS Dash Pilot Light Cluster · Pre-Wired Kit

Running aftermarket gauges in your HJ, HX, HZ or WB Holden GTS dash? The original GTS speedo and tacho have the turn signal and high beam indicators built in, but most aftermarket gauges don't. The Emdawg HJWBGTSPLC Pilot Light Cluster puts them back where you can see them.

The cluster screws straight into the original clock position (clock delete), so there's no drilling or cutting of your GTS fascia, and it stays easy to see even with a sports steering wheel.

It also brings the GTS fascia's brake and battery warning windows to life. Reproduction GTS dashes come with the globe mounts and lenses, but no globes, sockets or wiring. This kit supplies T5 LED globes and sockets for both. If your car used a single combined "brake fail / hand brake" light, the cluster lets you separate them into individual warning lights.

Wiring (8-way Deutsch DT)

• Pin 1 – Ignition key 'ON' (pink)
• Pin 2 – Ground (black)
• Pin 3 – Brake fail warning (tan)
• Pin 4 – Battery charge warning (brown)
• Pin 5 – Hand brake (yellow)
• Pin 6 – High beam indicator (light green)
• Pin 7 – Left indicator (light blue)
• Pin 8 – Right indicator (dark blue)

On a Kingswood (non-GTS) dash, the factory pilot light cluster uses a 10-way plug. The manual shows how to rewire it to the new Deutsch connector.

Installation

You'll need to be confident removing and refitting the instrument cluster and doing automotive wiring. If unsure, have an auto electrician fit it.

Tools: basic hand tools, soldering iron or crimp tools, wire cutters/strippers, a multimeter and a Deutsch crimp tool (or a pre-crimped Deutsch connector with tails).

Test everything before final assembly: plug the cluster in, turn the key to ON (battery light on), check the indicators, high beam and hand brake, then turn to START (brake fail light on). Then mount the cluster in the clock hole with the turn signals on top and refit the fascia.

Fitment

HJ, HX, HZ and WB Holdens fitted with a GTS dash fascia (original or reproduction), including Kingswood-to-GTS dash conversions. Gauges and fascia are not included.
