Retrotech Classic Dash Kit 60D with SAAS Muscle Digital gauges

SAAS Muscle Series 3 vs Muscle Digital Gauges: Which Should You Choose?

SAAS makes two popular in-dash gauge ranges that we fit to our RetroTech Classic dash kits: Muscle Series 3 and Muscle Digital. Both include an 80mm speedo and tacho and 52mm oil pressure, water temperature, volt and fuel level gauges, so you can build a full matching set with either. The main difference is how they look and read.

SAAS Muscle Series 3

Series 3 gauges have a real stepper-motor needle with a digital display, so they keep the classic analogue look that suits an original-style interior.

  • Tachometer 0–9,000 RPM with shift light
  • Oil pressure 0–140 psi, water temp 40–120°C, volt 8–18V
  • 10 selectable LED backlight colours
  • Fuel gauge with preset sender calibrations
  • Fitted to our 603 (VB/VC/VH) and 623 (VK) dash kits

SAAS Muscle Digital

Muscle Digital gauges have a fully digital readout in a vibration-resistant body, which suits street machines, track cars and 4WDs.

  • Tachometer 0–11,000 RPM with shift light
  • Oil pressure 0–150 psi, water temp 20–120°C, volt 8–18V
  • Dimmable backlighting, user-set warnings and peak recall
  • Fitted to our 60D (VB/VC/VH) and 62D (VK) dash kits

Which one is right for you?

  • Restoration or factory-look build: Series 3 – the needles keep the period feel.
  • High-revving engine or modern look: Muscle Digital – the 11K tacho and digital readout suit performance builds.
  • Mixing ranges: both share the same sizes, but for a consistent look we recommend sticking with one range across the dash.

Both speedos need an electronic speed signal – see GPS sensor vs ESA-01. If your fuel sender does not match the gauge presets, the SAAS fuel sender converter solves it.
